House and Senate lawmakers approved the majority of the budget on Wednesday, and finished it on this morning. The plan now moves to the desk of Gov. Jay Nixon. With his signature, it’ll go into effect July 1.
State funds, mostly derived from taxes, constitute about $7.8 billion in the budget —$484.2 million less than the recommendation Nixon, a Democrat, put forward in January. Read more.
