Connecticut ranked 49th for fiscal health

“…Truth in Accounting said the state continues to 'hide' $10.4 billion in retiree healthcare liabilities because of changes in government accounting standards. Therefore, healthcare liabilities may appear worse in next year’s state financial reports. … Connecticut’s neighbor to the north did not fare much better in Truth in Accounting’s analysis. Massachusetts was ranked 46 because of its pension and retiree healthcare liabilities.”
