Here’s an example of some quick-and-dirty analysis you can do in our State Data Lab facility. 

This chart shows a gerrymandering index for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin. 

In turn, this chart shows Truth in Accounting’s “Taxpayer Burden” measure of state finances for those states.

Illinois and Michigan, the two states that are most intensively gerrymandered, also have the worst finances.
