Please join AIER's Bastiat Society program in Chicago for an in-person event with Bill Bergman, Director of Research for Truth in Accounting.

Bill will provide a critical review of the financial conditions of the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the United States Government. The talk will cover historical foundations as well as current developments. Bill will also raise issues relating to how governments account for their finances, including issues relating to the foundations of popular sovereignty.

In light of the mission of the Bastiat Society, and the ideas of Frederic Bastiat about law and society, Bill also challenges attendees to read the entire  State of Illinois Municipal Code before his talk.
