Hundreds of small pension funds in Illinois face troubling debt. Is consolidation the way to go?

“… a task force appointed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker is set to make recommendations aimed at improving the health of pension funds statewide. … The goal of the task force discussions is to emerge with a ‘solution that everybody agrees is in the best interest of the retirees and our active police and firefighters, as well as municipalities,’ said Deputy Gov. Dan Hynes, who is overseeing the group's work.”
