Lightfoot’s $12.8 billion budget sails through committee

They’ve been protecting us. Now, we need to protect them and the services they provide,’ Reiter said. ‘The question isn’t whether we have the votes to pass this budget. The question is, who’s gonna stand with us to pass the budget. A budget that protects city services. A budget that protects city workers.
