Former U.S. Senate candidate Ken Buck called efforts to balance the nation’s budget a moral struggle, and he said passing a federal balanced budget amendment is the most important step toward ending deficit spending. … Buck said he expects a vote in Congress this summer on a balanced budget amendment as part of the negotiations over raising the debt limit. … ‘We can no longer rely on simple words form Washington, D.C., or thoughtful assurances from around the country, or even signed pledges,’ he said.
